Daily devotion

We live in a privileged society; we can openly read our Bible, talk to anyone anywhere about Jesus and quote our favourite verses during conversations without fear of persecution. It is the most natural thing in the world to say: 'Paul writes in Romans 8:28' or 'In 2 Cor 9:8 we read . . . ' Have you stopped for a moment to consider the fact that for some people you may as well be talking Chinese? Perhaps they have never owned a Bible, or picked up one to read?
I think we will be amazed to learn that there are children in our classes who have never heard a prayer in their lives or who don't know what a bible is? We sit in our cosy little religious corner and just assume that everyone knows who Peter, Paul or John is, yet for some people it is a completely foreign idea.
Consider this next time you want to complain about bad service, or get frustrated with a shop assistant or inconsiderate road users. You may be the only Bile they are going to read today.
